Sakura Review Open Submissions

jpeg-1

I started the day with a manuscript rejection from Black Ocean. No big deal! I am getting a bit antsy to hear back from other places, though, especially since I’ve got submissions out from before this lovely project started. In other news, today we’re submitting to the lovely print journal Sakura Review.

The Florida Review Open Submissions

jpeg

Getting solicited for work is the coolest thing ever, but when it happens and the market is closed I always scramble for what to feature. I sent work to The Florida Review back before this website happened, so you’re going to get some details about them since they just opened for submissions again! If you’re a subscriber they’re open to submissions year-round.

Cimarron Review Open Submissions

jpeg

Today, we continue on our trek to submit to literary journals that have been publishing longer than I’ve been alive! Really, though, Cimarron Review has been putting out amazing work since 1967 (the list of authors they’ve published is super intimidating and I’m deliberately ignoring it). Unfortunately this journal doesn’t publish nonfiction, but read on if you’ve got excellent poetry or fiction to submit.

The Baltimore Review Open Submissions

There’s really no way to describe what it’s like waiting on so many submissions, but when I go a week without hearing from one I get antsy for sure. Oh well! I’m adding to the list of pieces out with a submission to The Baltimore Review. This journal has recently switched to a quarterly online format, but also continues to publish a print issue annually. It’s free, so send away!

Another Chicago Magazine Open Submissions

jpeg

I swear, this week it feels like my posts are getting shorter and shorter. My non-writing professional life is sort of out of control right now. I’m not venting or anything; truly, if I wasn’t this busy I don’t know what I’d do with myself. I like to set a good example, though, so it’s important to level with everyone that it is damn difficult getting submissions out every day with this much life happening. But I’m doing it! Wednesday’s market was Another Chicago Magazine.

Bombay Gin Open Submissions

jpeg

Hello! I’ve got to keep it short tonight. Bombay Gin just celebrated its 40th anniversary, and they’re open for submissions for another few days. If you’ve never heard of them, they’re the literary journal of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. This journal is currently accepting prose, poetry, and art submissions for issue 41.

Gone Lawn Open Submissions

jpeg

Good evening, all. To counteract my most recent pricey submission, I’m submitting work to Gone Lawn. They’re free, and their deadline is rolling, so you can find this one in the “rolling deadlines” category if you’re super tired like me and want to come back to it later on. They’re awesome, though, so submit when you can!
